This afternoon we had the honour and privilege to perform for one of our Life Member's - Syd Hand. Syd joined the Band on drums in the 1960s, he served on Committee and as Band Librarian and Historian for many years. He was awarded Life Membership in 1990. At 97 years old, Syd and his wife Mavis Hand, and his family are still very strong supporters of the Band and we would like to thank them for their hospitality today and for helping organise today's performance. It was a very special and truly memorable afternoon.

Check out this great interview by the very talented young composer - Jared McCunnie, with our very own Musical Director - Michael Mathers! He discusses the Mathers family's introduction of a $500 monetary prize for the most entertaining turn in the Nationals street march, as well as Michael's thoughts on the future of brass bands marching in Aus.
