We are excited to announce the 2021 launch of the Dandenong Youth Brass (DYB) initiative. Formerly under the name Springvale Brass, Dandenong Youth Brass is a brass band within the City of Greater Dandenong Band family. DYB strives to provide a community in which youth can further develop their musicianship and ensemble skills, and have fun playing music together.

DYB’s Musical Directors are brass instrumentalists who are both passionate about banding and music education. Rachael Shineton and Jenny Corcoran both have Music performance degrees from the Victorian College of the Arts and Monash University, respectively. They have also both completed Post Graduate Diplomas of Education and have held a variety of roles teaching Music and leading ensembles in schools and the community. DYB is also supported by an excellent team of City of Greater Dandenong Band committee members and tutors.

If you or someone you know under 25 is currently learning a brass or percussion instrument and is looking for a band, then get in touch with us. We would love to welcome you along to a rehearsal soon!
