Todd O'Shea
Baritone

Married and living in Cranbourne Todd started his Banding life at the young age of 10 with the Warrnambool City brass Band. The Warrnambool City brass band was very successful in this period going from D to C grade and winning or placing in many competitions at state and national level from 1980-1987.

 

From 1984 to 1988 Todd was a member of the Victorian State Youth Brass Band where he first met Michael Mathers. During his time in the youth band Todd participated in tours of Tasmania, South Australia and Queensland. 

 

In 1987 Todd's father accepted a job in Burnie Tasmania and Todd together with his family moved to Burnie. 

 

Todd joined the Burnie Band in 1987 till 1990 playing Euphonium. Then Joining the Ulverstone band in 1991 till 1995 where he played baritone. During this very successful period the Ulverstone band won many B grade state tiltes and were equal first at the Nationals in B grade. Eventually awarded second palce on a points count back. In 1991 and 1992 Todd was the Open baritone champion of Tasmania. 

 

Due to work commitments in 1996 Todd moved back to the Burnie brass band in that year the band placed 3rd in C grade at the National band championships.

 

Upon returning to Victoria to live and work in Ballarat Todd joined the Footscray Yarraville brass band from 1998 to 2000. Then moving to Melbourne's outer eastern suburbs in 2000 Todd joined the Dandenong Band for 18 months before having a 12 year break from banding life. 

 

Upon returning to the banding scene Todd joined the Frankston band for 12 months then moved back to the City of Greater Dandenong Band. 

 

Having achieved many of his musical goals in the 30+ years of playing in brass bands, Todd is very much enjoying. being back at the Dandenong.

 

Todd loves the friendly atmosphere and the support the Dandenong band members have shown him since his return to playing, Todd hopes that he has many successful years with the band.
