MADONNA LORD
Baritone

Madonna started playing Euphonium at the age of 13 with the Goondiwindi Town Band (QLD) for 6 years until they sadly folded. After working for a year in Canberra Madonna moved to Brisbane to be closer with her family. She joined the South Brisbane Federal playing Tenor Horn as well as being active on their Committee (Minute Secretary & Treasurer). In 1976 Allan Lord joined South Brisbane Federal as well and Madonna and Allan became an item.

In 1977 they both resigned and moved to Melbourne and both signed up with Kew Citizens (as it was known at the time) in the following year. Over the next 13 years Madonna played Tenor Horn and Baritone, was very active on the Committee (Minute Secretary, Ticket Officer & Bingo Caller) and was awarded Life Membership of the Kew Band. Madonna resigned from the band in 1989 to become a Mum and had a break from playing for a few years.

In 1992 Madonna returned to brass banding signing up with the newly formed Lilydale Municipal Band playing Tenor Horn and serving on Committee however after a few years and lack of members the band sadly folded. Madonna then signed with Ringwood Brass Band (now Maroondah Brass) in 1994 and over the next 12 years played Tenor Horn and Baritone and was again very active on their Committee (Secretary). The City of Greater Dandenong Band welcomed Madonna in 2013 to their Baritone section.
