CHRISSIE MITCHELL

Trombone

 

Mother of two Chrissie first began playing piano at age 6 and added trombone to her instrument repertoire at age 9.  A multi-instrumentalist, Chrissie joined the Dandenong Band in 2010 adding it to her list of Queensland bands where she has previously played Bass Trombone, Flugelhorn and Solo Cornet.  Together with her husband Fletcher she has tasted competition success and together they won the Open Duet in the South East Queensland Brass Contest.  

 

A qualified and current music teacher she has an Associate Degree in Music (Performance) on Trombone from the University of Southern Queensland, a Bachelor of Arts (Music/History) from University of Southern Queensland and a Graduate Diploma in Education from Monash University. In her spare time Chrissie enjoys keeping fit, baking and raising funds for charity.
