ALFIO TOMASELLI
Valve Trombone

 

Alfio joined the Trecastagni (his home town in Italy) Concert Band at the age of 8. He enjoyed the music and playing the cornet as his first instrument however never had the interest to further his studies in music. After 4 years in the band a trombone shortage saw Alfio take up the valve trombone. In 1992 he moved to Venice for National Military Service and joined a concert band over there. This is where Alfio took up the baritone as it was the only available instrument! 

 

Alfio moved to Australia in 1994 and after living here for 18 years he joined the Dandenong Brass Band. He is enjoying getting back into music and believes the passion for music will never fade. His Italian background and language often comes in very handy in rehearsals!
